Puppies Turn One Month Old and Our Decision is Made!

Tux and Christy's litter turned one month old on August 10, 2009. We are pleased to announce that we will be taking "Doc" home with us over the upcoming Labor Day Weekend.

Doc's registered name will be "Sherbil's Red Coat Syndrome". He is a very symmetrically marked Red Tri. His markings copy his dad's very closely and his eyes will probably be a hazel color. It seems that certain small details helped us make this choice...but some people say that puppies pick you and you don't pick them even though you think you do!

Probably, what did the deal was the eye contact he consistently made with me when I held him during visits. Doc showed me this behavior almost immediately after he could see straight and has even been caught looking at pictures of Aussies like the one on a wall calendar in the living room! I was pretty impressed by that. He is generally more reserved than the other pups. Tux had this "cautious & thoughtful" behavior as well. A friend will be "temperament testing" Doc just before he comes home with us. It will be very interesting to see how the results come out.

All of Doc's littermates except one black tri girl have placements. The new puppies have found families that will be keeping them busy by showing them in the performance and conformation rings. We are very happy to see that our Aussies will have plenty to do.

The puppies are developing rapidly and have monopolized a larger ex-penned area in the garage. They enjoy running and romping together and are learning what their bodies are made to do. Obstacle objects and many different types of toys are being introduced to these active kids.
